At the 2008 Republican National Convention in Minneapolis, the RJC NWC hosted a luncheon at Neiman Marcus to salute Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Guest speakers were Hadassah Lieberman, Global Ambassador, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, and Hala Moddlemog, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, President and CEO. Attendees included Mica Mosbacher and Judy Black (Co-Chairs Women for McCain), Texas State Senator Florence Shapiro, NBC’s Norah O'Donnell, and former RJC Chair Cheryl Halpern. Due to Hurricane Gustav, the event raised funds through a silent auction for the American Red Cross Hurricane Victim Relief Fund. The 200 guests at the luncheon enjoyed a fashion show of Fall trends, and visited with NWC members from across the country.
