The RJC National Women's Committee (NWC) was thrilled to host an exciting program on May 12th in New York City. Over 70 women attended the meeting where they were given an opportunity for the women of the RJC to come together and discuss programming, grassroots, media outreach, and NWC’s goals for the future. The discussion was led by NWC Chair Diane Sembler-Kamins, NWC Honorary Chair Cheryl Halpern and NWC Executive Director Lisa Spies. The NWC is a forward-looking, committed group of RJC members, who want to expand the RJC's outreach among women and effectively add women's voices to the RJC and to the Republican Party. We also were pleased to have Katie Levinson as a special guest speaker. Ms. Levinson’s background includes serving as communications director and spokeswoman for Rudy Giuliani’s presidential and Arnold Schwarzenegger’s gubernatorial campaigns, as well as serving as a senior member of the White House Communications team.
As if all of this activity isn't enough (that old adage, "the busiest people get the most done" comes to mind), Jillian's also has a long list of community and charitable work includes AIPAC, Guardian Ad-Litem, The Susan G. Komen Foundation, The American Heart Association, Junior League, Kids-in-Distress, hospital volunteer and serving on the Board for the Center for the Arts. Jillian is a graduate of New York's Nyack College with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, specializing in organizational and strategic management. Meg Whitman's enthusiasm at having Jillian on board running campaign operations is quite evident. She told FR that, Jillian's ability to lead under pressure, her organizational skills and, my personal favorite, her 'team first' mentality, are strengths I admire. Jillian's complements and strengthens our organization immensely." Whitman went on to say that, "We looked throughout California and across America for someone who has been tested and proven, and Jillian Hasner is a perfect fit," I'll close with the sentiments of a longtime personal friend of both Jillian's and mine, Randy Enwright, who is one of Florida's most esteemed Republican political veterans, and who was the senior strategist for the George W. Bush campaign in 2000, which you will recall was the election that went on for weeks as the recount left the final outcome in doubt. He said of Jillian, "I have no doubt whatsoever that were it not for Jillian's pivotal efforts in that campaign, there would have been no need for a recount, because Al Gore would have won Florida's electoral votes, and the White House."
Support the National Women's Committee!
The National Women’s Committee of the Republican Jewish Coalition (RJC) is gearing up for the 2010 elections and we need your support today. By joining the NWC you will automatically be a member of the RJC.
Although the results of last year’s election were not what we had hoped for, the RJC looks to the upcoming challenges optimistically and with great hope for the future. We need your help. Support the RJC’s efforts to advocate for the needs and priorities of the Jewish community by renewing your RJC membership today! Despite the concentrated efforts of liberal interest groups to stifle and suppress our conservative message, the RJC’s grassroots activities and national ad campaign for Republican principles ensured that critical issues were raised in the Jewish community. Moreover, the RJC campaign garnered extensive media coverage, and sent Democrats scrambling to shore up their support in the Jewish community.
The changed political reality in Washington makes the RJC’s role more critical than ever. We have been working tirelessly to ensure that the Democratic strongholds in both the legislative and executive branches do not go unchallenged. The RJC will remain steadfast in working to ensure that Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and Barack Obama do not undo the unprecedented level of support for Israel that the GOP put in place over the past eight years. Furthermore, the RJC will work to support strong homeland security policies that keep our nation safe as well as responsible fiscal policies that spur economic recovery while maintaining our free-market system.
Your membership is essential to our continued success – Basic membership is $50 per year and leadership opportunities start at $1000 per year.
The RJC’s mission to inform the Jewish community of Republican ideals and policy solutions is now of even greater importance. We will continue to ensure that the Jewish community is aware that there are stark differences between big government liberalism and GOP principles. RJC members also gain the benefit of participating in the political process through a wide array of programming with elected officials and top policy makers. With 45 chapters, 40,000 members, and nearly 400 events per year, the RJC is a coast-to-coast resource for the American Jewish community.
